Fake Cubs Press Release rips GM Jim Hendry

It looks like a disgruntled fan had access to the press box at Milwaukee’s Miller Park, and decided to play a prank on Chicago Cubs’ GM Jim Hendry by inserting a game day press release describing a fake book authored by the GM.
The release said (via Paul Sullivan of The Chicago Tribune):
“A new book certain to be a best seller” was the fake book title: “How to Finish Near Last Place with the Highest Payroll in the League.”
“Read in Jim Hendry’s own words how the Chicago Cubs managed to finish near the bottom of the National League Central; Division with the highest payroll in the National League.”
“Why I signed Milton Bradley!”
“Why I released Casey McGehee only to see him hit 20 home runs and drive in nearly 100 runs for a division rival!”
“Why I hired former Pittsburgh general manager Dave Littlefield, the man who helped make the Pirates what they are today, as my special assistant!”
“How I botched the recall of Micah Hoffpauir from our minor league team in Iowa by losing track of the number of days that he was in the minors!”
“Why I signed players to long-term contracts with limited trade options!”
The release ended with the sentence: “Reserve your copy today!”
About three dozen copies were inserted along side the Cubs and Brewers press notes.
The umpires must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed on Tuesday. They had no problem throwing out a manager, coach, player and even a fan from the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals game. Home plate umpire Bob Davidson must have really been irked – he tossed out Cardinals’ pitching coach Dave Duncan, Brewers’ center fielder Chris Dickerson, and a fan near home plate. Brewers’ manager Ken Macha was ejected earlier by another umpire. Here’s the video:
What did Macha say about the ejections:
“One coach, one manager, one player and one fan. Everybody got thrown out,” Macha said, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. “The guys that missed Hoffman’s 600th.”

VIDEO: Toronto Blue Jays fan struck by falling metal sign in Rogers Centre

9/6 13:58: No video yet, but according to the Associated Press, a fan at the Toronto Blue Jays game was struck by a falling metal letter from a sign honoring Jackie Robinson. He was struck in the right shoulder Monday in the seventh inning in the game between the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Major League home run leader Jose Bautista hit a foul ball off the third deck behind home plate and the letter “B” from Robinson’s name fell about 30 feet.
The man identified by Ian was treated with ice packs and returned to his seat.

VIDEO: Foul Ball Friday – Fan banned for life after throwing ball back at the pitcher
Posted by: | CommentsAn unidentified man will never be able to watch the Richmond Flying Squirrels ever again after he threw a Brandon Belt foul ball back onto the field and hit Reading Phillies pitcher J.C. Ramirez in the left leg on Tuesday night. It’s really hard to see with this video, but the ball is hit foul at the 0:55 mark and the back comes back onto the field at the 1:01 mark. Here’s the video:

The Associated Press said the game was stopped briefly and the fan was removed. The Richmond Flying Squirrels are an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
