Pittsburgh Pirates sign P Travis Chick
Posted by: | CommentsDejan Kovaacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette tweets that the Pittsburgh Pirates have signed pitcher Travis Chick out of the independent Atlantic League. He will take a spot at Triple-A Indianapolis.
Chick, 26, is a right-handed pitcher was with the Los Angeles Angels this Spring. He made three appearances for the Seattle Mariners in 2006. He is 48-45 with a 4.25 ERA in 189 appearances (142) in his Minor League career.

Los Angeles Dodgers sign Juan Castro to Minor League contract
Posted by: | CommentsEd Price of AOL FanHouse says infielder Juan Castro who was released by the Philadelphia Phillies on July 17, has signed a Minor League deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Castro, 38, hit .198 with 13 RBIs in 54 games with the Phillies this season. He was released by the Phillies when Placido Polanco was activated off the 15-day disabled list.
San Diego Padres sign infielder Nick Green to a Minor League contract
Posted by: | CommentsAccording to Corey Brock of MLB.com, the San Diego Padres have signed infielder NIck Green to a Minor League contract. Green will report to Triple-A Portland.
Green was signed by the Blue Jays in mid-June to a Major League contract, but was designated for assignment last week. Green was also apart of the Dodgers organization this year but was designated for assignment at the end of May.
Los Angeles Dodgers release Kiko Calero

7/23 20:25: According to baseballamerica.com, Kiko Calero has been released by the Dodgers. Calero pitched 15 innings with a 3.00 ERA for the Dodgers Triple-A team.
6/11 10:51: According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, the Dodgers have signed right-handed pitcher Kiko Calero to a Minor League deal.
Colero signed a deal with the New York Mets this Spring, but he did not make the big league club this year. Calero pitched for the Marlins in 2009 going 2-2 with a 1.95 ERA over 67 games. You can see Calero’s statistics here.
Philadelphia Phillies sign OF Timo Perez to a Minor League deal
Posted by: | CommentsAccording to Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Phillies have signed outfielder Timo Perez to a Minor League contract and have assigned him to Double-A Reading.
Perez, 35, last played in the big leagues with the Detroit Tigers when he hit .389/.427/.533 in 29 games (90 at-bats). In his 8 years in the Major Leagues, Perez has played with the Mets, White Sox, Cardinals and Tigers.
New York Mets reach agreement with reliever Chad Cordero

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports, the New York Mets have reached an agreement with reliever Chad Cordero on a Minor League contract. The deal will be completed today.
Cordero was withe Seattle Mariners this season, and was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on July 15. Because of his service time, he was able to reject the option and become a free agent. The 28-year-old was 0-1 with a 6.52 EAR in 9 appearances for the Mariners in 2010.
San Diego Padres to sign Wily Mo Pena

According to CandelaDeportiva.com, the San Diego Padres and outfielder Wily Mo Pena have agreed to a Minor League contract. Pena will be assigned to Triple-A Portland.
Pena, 28, has not played since 2008 when he was with the Washington Nationals. That season he played in 64 games and hit .205/.243/.267.
Rocco Baldelli to sign a Minor League deal with Tampa Bay Rays

Marc Topkin of The St. Petersburg Times says that Rocco Baldelli is expected to a sign a Minor League contract this afternoon and be the DH tonight for the Single-A Charlotte Stone Crabs.
Baldelli, 28, has been working as a special assistant coach for the Rays all year and has been taking batting practice with the team. Baldelli hit .253 (38 for 150) with 7 home runs and 23 RBIs in 62 games with the Red Sox last season.

San Francisco Giants sign Dontrelle Willis to Minor League contract

According to the official Giants Twitter account, the San Francisco Giants have signed left-handed pitcher Dontrelle Willis to a Triple-A contract.
The Giants will only be responsible for the pro-rated league minimum if he is called up to the big leagues.
Willis, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, pitched with the Detroit Tigers and the Arizona Diamondbacks this season. He was traded from the Tigers to the Dbacks on June 1st. The left-hander lasted with Arizona for a little over a month before he was designated for assignment on July 4th. He has a 2-3 record and a 5.62 ERA in 15 appearances (13 starts) this season.
