Angels sign Jason Isringhausen
By
The Los Angeles Angels have added reliever Jason Isringhausen to the bullpen mix on a minor league deal, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
The deal includes an invite to Spring Training and allows Isringhausen to become a free agent if he doesn’t make the club.
In 53 appearances for the Mets last season, Isringhausen posted a 4.05 ERA and a 8.5 k/9.
In 14 seasons, Isringhuasen has accumulated 300 saves and is viewed as a potential mentor for current Angels closer Jordan Walden who is entering his second season in that role. Walden had 32 saves last season but also 10 blown saves.
