Logan Morrison files grievance against Marlins

24-year-old Logan Morrison has filed a grievance against the Florida Marlisn in what he claims was a wrongful demotion in August, according to Amy K. Nelson of ESPN.com. The Marlins told Morrison that he was moved to the Minor Leagues for his “.240s” batting average.
Coincidentally the left fielder missed a team meet-and-greet with season-ticket holders and Marlins president of baseball operations, Larry Beinfest, told reporters that Morrison needed to learn more about “being a major leaguer”.
“I’m doing this because I’m standing up for what’s right,” Morrison told ESPN.com this week. “If I thought it was because of my performance on the field, then I wouldn’t be filing a grievance.”
Morrison, his agent (Fred Wray) and the players’ union believe that his demotion was a form of discipline without just cause so they filed a grievance on August 25.
