Carlos Zambrano done for the remainder of 2011

By juan

The Chicago Cubs announced today that Carlos Zambrano will remain at home for the remainder of the 2011 season.  The team added via the press release that the grievance process between them and Zambrano is not resolved yet and Major League Baseball, the club and the Players Association will process the grievance during the offseason.

Zambrano was placed on the disqualified list in mid-August and was to receive no pay for 30 days.  The Cubs will resume his salary at the end of his time on the disqualified list. The right-hander is in the fourth-year of his five-year contract and is making $17.875 million this season.
