The Atlanta Braves have released Julio Lugo, according to a Tweet by Mark Bowman of MLB.com. The move was done when the team activated Jack Wilson from the disabled list.
Lugo had a base salary of $650,000 with the Braves when he signed a contract with the club in May. While in the Minor Leagues, he was making $12,000 per month.
