The Boston Red Sox have spoken with the Kansas City Royals about right fielder Jeff Francoeur, multiple sources have told FOX Sports, as reported by Jon Paul Morosi. One source said that the talks were of an “exploratory” nature.

Melky Cabrera was mentioned this week as another player that the Royals could deal, but Merosi speculates that the team will not deal both players.
