Colby Rasmus trade to Blue Jays is imminent
Posted by: | Comments
Fresh off their acquisition of Edwin Jackson, the Blue Jays appear set to acquire Colby Rasmus. Buster Olney of ESPN says the deal will include Colby Rasmus, Trever Miller, Brian Tallet and P.J. Walters for Jackson, Marc Rzepcynski, Octavio Dotel and Corey Patterson.
The deal seems a bit odd as the Cardinals have demanded a big return for Rasmus. At the season’s end, they will have Rzepczynski who may end up being only a left specialist, Patterson and two draft picks (Jackson and Dotel are set to be free agents and both look to be Type-B’s).

Beltran NOT going to Texas- Giants still front runners
Posted by: | Comments
According to a source close to Joe McDonald of ESPNBoston, the Red Sox are out of the Beltran talk. Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports adds that Beltran is not going to the Rangers and that the Giants are presumed to be front runners.
Earlier today, we learned that both the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants were making progress in trade talks involving Carlos Beltran ESPNNewYork.com reports. The Atlanta Braves are still involved, but the Rangers and Giants are moving along in talks with the Mets.
Buster Olney of ESPN says that the Indians have walked away from the Beltran talks. They are convinced that Scott Boras (Beltran’s agent) is controlling the process.
Now that the Braves will be without Brian McCann for a few weeks due to his recent injury, the Braves need for Beltran may increase and force them to give up a top level prospect, something they were against in recent days.
