Yankees have talked to the Mets about Carlos Beltran
Posted by: | Comments
According to Buster Olney of ESPN, the New York Yankees are one of a handful of teams that have talked to the New York Mets regarding Carlos Beltran. Although Olney points out that unless it’s a pure salary dump, he can’t see it happening.
Yesterday, we learned that Beltran is tops on the San Francisco Giants’ wish list of outfielders and that the Mets are willing to cover his remaining salary. “From what I gather, they are asking a lot for him because they are willing to pick up all of his salary,” the source told ESPNNewYork.com.
The New York Mets though want a top prospect for Beltran. It was suggested last week that the Giants could move pitching prospect Zack Wheeler to New York.
