In a tweet by MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch, he reports that New York Yankee’s first baseman, Mark Teixeira is not being represented by agent Scott Boras anymore. Teixeira said he wants to focus more on helping the Yankees win and his impact on the community. He feels that Boras is not the best fit for those goals.
Teixeira is the second Yankee in a few months to fire Boras. In September, Alex Rodriguez, fired Boras and switched representation to Pittsburgh attorney Jay Reisinger and Washington lawyer Jim Sharp.
Boras helped then free agent Teixeira sign an eight-year, $180 million contract in December 2008 with the Yankees.
