In an article by Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports, sources tell him that the Seattle Mariners are interested in right-handed pitcher Chad Durbin.

Durbin, however, said last week that he wants to play for a competitive team and the Mariners will not be in that category this season.  The 33-year-old is said to be holding out for a contending club to make an offer, but Rosenthal says that Durbin my not have that choice.

Rosenthal previously suggested that the Rays, Marlins, Brewers and Twins were among the projected contending teams looking for bullpen help, although he didn’t know if they had interest in Durbin.

Durbin was 4-1 with a 3.80 ERA in 68.2 innings throughout 64 games with the Phillies in 2010.
