According to the New York Mets official Twitter account, the team has agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million contract with outfielder Angel Pagan. The contract avoids the arbitration process between the two parties. The Mets now have no arbitration-eligible players remaining.
The outfielder submitted $4.2 million while the team submitted $3.0625 million by the arbitration deadline.
Pagan, 29, hit .290/.340/.425 in his first full season with the Mets in 2010. Pagan will continue to be under control through the 2012 season. He made $1.45 million in 2010.
