Reds interested in Scott Podsednik
By
The Cincinnati Reds are looking to improve their leadoff spot in the batting order and they have their eye on free-agent outfielder Scott Podsednik, according to sources close to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.
Rosenthal suggests that Podsednik would be a good fit with the Reds since he’s a left-handed bat and he could platoon with the right-handed hitting Jonny Gomes in left field.
Earlier this week, Rosenthal mentioned the Los Angeles Angels are in need of a leadoff man, and that the team has shown interest in the speedy left fielder.
Podsednik, 34, hit .297/.342/.382 with 6 HR and 51 RBI’s in 2010, he also stole 35 bases in 50 attempts.
