According to the Detroit Tigers official Twitter account, the team has agreed to a Major League contract for 2011 season with RHP Alberto Alburquerque.

Albuquerque, 24, was has not played in the Major Leagues. In 2010 with Double-A Tulsa, he was 2-4 with a 4.98  ERA in 25 appearances. He signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Rockies on March 5, 2010, but was designated for assignment the next month.

He was originally acquired from the Chicago Cubs for Jeff Baker in 2009.
