Chicago Cubs interested in Carlos Peña and Lance Berkman

According to FOXSports Jon Paul Morosi, the Chicago Cubs are showing interest in free agent first baseman Carlos Peña.
Morosi thinks that hitting at hitter-friendly Wrigley Field in Chicago would be favorable for Peña on a short-term deal. It will allow him to reestablish his value, so come winter 2011, he’ll be able to command a higher salary.
The Cubs are looking for a first baseman since they do not have Derrek Lee any longer.
Morosi adds that the Cubs are also interested in Lance Berkman. Berkman has previously said that he would like to return to the National League after spending half a season with the New York Yankees. He isn’t ready to give up the field yet and become a full-time designated hitter. Berkman is drawing interest from the Colorado Rockies and Oakland Athletics in addition to the Cubs.
