Brandon Webb would be open to pitching for Pittsburgh Pirates
By
The agent of Brandon Webb, Jonathan Maurer, told Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, that the pitcher would welcome a chance to come back from shoulder surgery with the Pirates.
“The Pirates are an organization that Brandon and I have a lot of respect for, especially for the GM,” Maurer said. “But they’re also one of a number of teams that are interested.”
We’ve heard teams such as the Colorado Rockies, Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs are interested in the former Cy Young Award winner.
Webb has only pitched once in the last two seasons after suffering a shoulder injury late in Spring Training in 2009. Maurer said earlier this month that he would seek a contract in the $7.5 million range this winter.
