RHP Freddy Garcia would love to return to Chicago White Sox in 2011

Right-handed pitcher Freddy Garcia said he would love to return to the Chicago White Sox for 2011, but he understands that it could be a long shot, according to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune.
“Look around,” said Garcia, who has won 10 games as the Sox’s fifth starter and is a free agent after this season. “Now they got (Edwin) Jackson, another pitcher with a lot of money. So they want to get (Jake) Peavy back next year, who knows? They got (John) Danks, (Mark) Buehrle and (Gavin) Floyd.
“I don’t know what the situation is for me.”
Garcia, 35, is 10-4 with a 4.54 ERA. He has a 1.419 WHIP with a 1.89 SO/BB ratio. This year, he will likely surpass the total number of games that he pitched combined in 2007-2009. Garcia has pitched in 20 games this season, and his 2007-2009 total is 23 games. He missed parts of those season due to shoulder injuries. He currently is signed with the White Sox through this season on a $1 million contract with $2 million in performance bonuses.
“You got to look at it that way,” Garcia said. “I’d love to come back, and I love Chicago. I like this team. There are a lot of good people around and playing for Ozzie (Guillen) is good. It’s easy.”
