Geoff Blum and Craig Counsell clear waivers
By
Buster Olney of ESPN has a couple of suggestions for teams that are in need of third base depth such as the St. Louis Cardinals and the Atlanta Braves. Geoff Blum and Craig Counsell, according to Olney, have cleared waivers. The Astros and Brewers are free to negotiate a trade with any MLB team should they decide to move these players.
Blum, 37 and currently with the Houston Astros, is making $1.5 million this year, and is hitting .266/.327/.325 this year.
Counsell, 40 this week and currently with the Milwaukee Brewers, is making $2.1 million this season and is hitting .246/.14/.305.
