According to the Cincinnati Reds official Twitter account, the Reds have acquired outfielder Jim Edmonds from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for outfielder Chris Dikerson.
Edmonds, 40, is hitting .286/.350/.493 with 8 home runs for the Brewers. He signed a Minor League deal with the Brewers in January. He will earn between $2-2.5 million based on performance incentives. There were several teams interested in Edmonds before the July 31st trade deadline.
Dickerson, 28, hit .205/.22/.273 in 20 games for the Reds this season.
