Blue Jays’ Vernon Wells, Edwin Encarnacion and Brian Tallet clear waivers

Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun tweets that Toronto Blue Jays’ outfielder Vernon Wells, third baseman Edwin Encarnacion and left-handed relief pitcher Brian Tallet have cleared waivers.
Wells, 31, is starting to hit like the old Wells. He’s hitting .260/.311/.400 with 22 home runs and 60 RBIs so far this season. The only downside is that he’s owed more than $80+ million, so any team that takes him will have to open up the money vault for him.
Encarnacion, 27, was mentioned by Bill Shanks of FOXSportsSouth.com yesterday as a possible third base replacement candidate for the injured Chipper Jones. Encarnacion is hitting .242/.305/.458 with 12 home runs and 33 RBIs this season for the Blue Jays.
Tallet, 32, could be an option for teams that need left-handed relief depth. He is 2-4 with a 5.79 ERA in 21 appearances this season (5 starts).
