According to the official Giants Twitter account, the San Francisco Giants have signed left-handed pitcher Dontrelle Willis to a Triple-A contract.

The Giants will only be responsible for the pro-rated league minimum if he is called up to the big leagues.

Willis, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, pitched with the Detroit Tigers and the Arizona Diamondbacks this season. He was traded from the Tigers to the Dbacks on June 1st. The left-hander lasted with Arizona for a little over a month before he was designated for assignment on July 4th. He has a 2-3 record and a 5.62 ERA in 15 appearances (13 starts) this season.
