The New York Yankees have acquired Austin Kearns from the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later. The possibility of the trade was first reported by Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated. Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports says the Yankees will exchange a player to be named later or cash.
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports reported that the deal was completed.
The Yankees may have another trade up their sleeve. Earlier we heard that the Yankees may have another trade in the works in addition to this trade and the Lance Berkman trade.
Kearns, 30, hit .268/.351/.413 in 83 games for the Indians this season.
