Milwaukee Brewers willing to entertain offers for Prince Fielder

By Allan

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports talks about what could happen with Milwaukee Brewers Prince Fielder between now and his free agency after the 2011 season:

The Tampa Bay Rays “won’t go near the guy” since Fielder’s arbitration salary for 2011 will take him around $16 million.

If the Brewers decide to trade Fielder, two teams would make sense now: The Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants. Fielder would fit perfectly in the White Sox batting order, but Chicago may not have the trading chips now to entice the Brewers to trade Fielder to the South Side. The Giants have the trading chips in pitchers Madison Bumgarner or Jonathan Sanchez and Minor League first baseman Brandon Belt. However, the team will need to stretch their budget in order to accommodate Fielder.

If the Brewers wait until after the season to make a trade for Fielder, the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers could be candidates to use his services.
