Milwaukee Brewers Rumors: Trading Corey Hart and going after Cliff Lee?

By Allan

The Milwaukee Brewers are in a tough dilemma. They are 9 1/2 games out of first in the NL Central, so management will need to decide if they start to sell off or add a few new pieces to make them contenders? Their manager, Ken Macha, took the Oakland A’s from 15 games below .500 to first place, so do the Brewers count on his experience?

If the Brewers decide to become sellers, the San Francisco Giants have been very interested in right fielder Corey Hart. Hart will be very expensive in arbitration, according to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, and if they cater to his financial needs then they could run into problems if they want to extend the contract of first baseman Prince Fielder.

The Giants need a bat, and they have starting pitching that they can part with such as Jonathan Sanchez and rookie Madison Bumgarner.

Cafardo wonders if the team heats up, do they become players for Cliff Lee?

The next few weeks will dictate the rest of the 2010 season for the Brewers.
