Update – Milwaukee Brewers put Prince Fielder, Corey Hart and Rickie Weeks on trading table

7/10 18:01: Buster Olney of ESPN the Magazine tweets, “Heard this: Brewers listening on Prince Fielder and Corey Hart, but have no interest in trading Rickie Weeks. Fielder’s market value probably is much lower than what casual fans might think, because he’s a FA after next year; he’s a Scott Boras client, which means that he’ll almost certainly test the market; and word is that Boras expects to get more for Fielder than the Howard 5/125 extension.
7/10 13:53: The Milwaukee Brewers are ready to sell and Prince Fielder, Corey Hart and Rickie Weeks could be available to the highest bidder, according to a Major League source close to Jeff Fletcher of AOL FanHouse.
Fielder, Hart and Weeks are all arbitration-eligible in the off-season and free agents after the 2011 season, so the Brewers are trying to get maximum value for their players before they are lost to unaffordable contracts.
The San Francisco Giants have been the only ones actively trying to get one of the players – Corey Hart. A rumored trade that involved left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez for Hart came up this week, but nothing official went through. Fletcher says the Giants could also be interested in a player like Weeks since they are in desperate need for offense.
Fletcher says the Los Angeles Angels were approached by the Brewers to gauge their interest in Fielder, but they were rebuffed.
The Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Phillies could use help from Weeks, but they would have no use for him once their regulars return to the lineup.
Other teams that could be interested are the San Diego Padres and the Chicago White Sox who both could use Weeks.
