Manny Ramirez Rumors: Yankees out, White Sox and Dodgers far apart on deal

7/31 11:21: Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated has a few rumors regarding Ramirez:

Yankees are out on Ramirez. (source)

The Chicago White Sox are far apart on Manny, and doesn’t look likely. (source)

The one offer the Dodgers had from the White Sox had them paying $1 million of Manny’s salary. (source)

7/31 10:47: Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times tweets that the Angels and Rays have asked the Dodgers about Ramirez.

7/31 09:36: Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports Tweets, “Manny market heating up. Sources: Three teams have called Dodgers about him — White Sox, Rays and mystery club. Dodgers are considering.”

7/31 09:24: Jon Heyman tweets, “manny appears amenable to going to the #chisox. but the #dodgers want big prospects back.”

7/31 09:18: Ken Rosenthal tweets, “It’s a halfcourt shot, but it’s still in the air: Source says #WhiteSox intend to make one more run at Manny today. #Dodgers #MLB”

7/31 08:29: Sources close to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports says the Chicago White Sox asked the Los Angeles Dodgers for Manny Ramirez, but were ultimately rejected.

It is possible that Ramirez could make it through waivers next month. The outfielder is currently on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 17 for a right calf strain.
