Los Angeles Dodgers targeting Chicago Cubs Ted Lilly?

By Allan

Manager Joe Torre said Thursday, “I think something will be done, ” meaning that the team may acquire a pitcher before the July 31st trade deadline, according to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.

Gurnick suggests that the most logical fit would be Chicago Cubs’ left-handed pitcher Ted Lilly. Lily pitched for Torre when they were both apart of the New York Yankeees organization.

Gurnick reminds us that the team has been linked to almost every available pitcher. The team desparately needs to add a reliever with the absence of Ronald Belisario and due to the struggling George Sherrill.

Here’s a list of the top starting pitchers and top relievers that could be traded by July 31.
