Los Angeles Dodgers interested in Pirates starter Paul Maholm

By Allan

Sources outside the team and close to Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says the Los Angeles Dodgers are interested in Pirates starter Paul Maholm.

Kavacevic says that there are “no indications from the Pirates that Maholm or any player is on the trading block, though they have acknowledged that they will listen to offers.”

The Dodgers have been looking for starting and relief pitching. GM Ned Colletti recently told Jim Bowden of Inside Pitch and FOXSports that he has the flexibility for a “major” transaction.

Maholm, 28, is 6-7 with a 4.03 ERA and a 1.439 WHIP in 19 starts for the Pirates this season.
