Los Angeles Angels looking for offensive depth
By
“Our lineup needs to get deeper,” manager Mike Scioscia said. “If there’s someone out there who is going to make us deeper, Tony [Reagins] is going to act on it. As of right now, there hasn’t been a lot presented that is going to be doable for what other teams are looking for and what we might have.”
Scioscia said the team needs another bat, and he would prefer that the player the get is signed past the 2010 season. GM Tony Reagins has been open to trade discussions since first baseman Kendry Morales went down on May 29.
“Our philosophy is not to bring someone in here for two or three months and empty your cupboard in the Minor Leagues to do it,” Scioscia said.
The Angels have been rumored to be going after players such as free agent Carlos Delgado, Chicago White Sox Paul Konerko and Washington Nationals’ Adam Dunn.
