Los Angeles Angels interested in Chicago Cubs Derrek Lee?
By
Friends of Chicago Cubs first baseman Derrek Lee say that the first baseman would waive his no-trade clause if he was traded to the right team. Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports say that the Los Angeles would be a good fit for Lee.
The Angels are looking for a first baseman to replace the injured Kendry Morales, and they want somebody that won’t be on the books for next year. The Angels plan to have Morales back for next year, and they plan to pursue Carl Crawford as a free agent after the season. Lee is a free agent after this season.
Lee would benefit from the Angels being in contention for the AL West title, and he also lives in California during the off-season. He could also benefit from a change in scenery especially if it boosts his numbers before being shopped to new employers this winter.
