Ken Rosenthal on the National League buyers and sellers
ByKen Rosenthal of FOXSports has a few pieces of hot stove news where he identifies which teams are buyers, which are sellers and which are both:
Arizona Diamondbacks: The D-backs will active, but you have to wonder how active they will be given that they have do not have a permanent general manager. Jerry Dipoto, the interim GM, may not be trusted by the ownership to move big names such as Dan Haren, Stephen Drew or Kelly Johnson. You can expect the D-backs to move such players as Adam LaRoche, Aaron Heilman and Chad Qualls.
Houston Astros: The team wants to move Roy Oswalt, but there has been little talks about him since he has a large salary, a no trade clause and a history of back troubles.
Expect the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies to be buyers before the trade deadline.
The Florida Marlins will likely be sellers.
The Washington Nationals could be both buyers and sellers.
The St. Louis Cardinals will be buyers and will be looking for pitching.
The Cincinnati Reds are looking for both starting pitching and relief pitching.
The Colorado Rockies will be active, and looking for second base help, perhaps Dan Uggla from the Florida Marlins.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to add pitching, but they have financial constraints due to the ownership divorce.
The San Francisco Giants are trying to add a bat with the latest rumors surrounding the Milwaukee Brewers Corey Hart.
