- The Tigers have kept in touch with the Chicago Cubs regarding left-handed pitcher Ted Lilly. The Tigers are trying to upgrade their rotation.
- The team has not show interest in recently DFA’d Nate Robertson of the Florida Marlins.
- Detroit has no interest in acquiring Ivan Rodriguez, but the team would consider upgrades behind the plate.
- Scouts for the Tigers were watching Arizona Diamondbacks’ Danny Haren on Wednesday night, but Morosi says it will be a surprise if something happens there.
- The team has kept tabs on Seattle Mariners’ pitchers David Aardsma and Brandon League. They will also get a first-hand look at the Blue Jay’s pitchers Scott Downs, Jason Frasor and Casey Janssen when the team visits the Blue Jays this weekend.
- Detroit is not pursuing the Cubs’ Ryan Theriot.
- The Tigers have liked Seattle’s Jack Wilson in the past, but there are too many negatives there.
- The team is not being aggressive in the third base department despite losing Brandon Inge to a broken bone in his hand. They may revisit Ty Wigginton at a later time.
