Detroit Tigers interested in Oakland Athletics RHP Ben Sheets?

The Detroit Tigers need an innings’ eater and James Schmehl of MLive.com says there could be interest in Oakland Athletics’ right-handed pitcher Ben Sheets.
Sheets is probably the only trading chip that the A’s have, and GM Billy Beane has previously said that he likes the influence that the veteran is having on his younger players, so he may not get traded. However, if the Tigers dangle some of their better prospects such as Ryan Strieby, Wilkin Ramirez, Casper Wells or Jeff Larish then it may be enough to entice Beane to pull the trigger.
Earlier this week, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports said that there wasn’t much chatter regarding the interest of Sheets, but he has posted some impressive numbers lately. He has gone at least 6 innings in 13 straight starts with a 3.72 ERA.
Sheets signed a one-year, $10 million contract before the season, so the Tigers will be responsible for a little less than $5 million if he were to be traded today.
