By7/7 16:43: Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com says the Red Sox probably will not pursue catcher Chris Snyder before the deadline. They could go after him in the off-season.
7/7 13:56: Despite being in last place in the National League West and the season all but lost, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports says the Arizona Diamondbacks may not dump salary. This means high-profile stars and long-term fixtures like Danny Haren, Kelly Johnson and Stephen Drew may not be traded before July 31.
The team is currently projected to have a decline in their payroll from $78 million this season to the $65-70 million range next year.
Rosenthal adds, that free agents-to-be Andy LaRoche, Chad Qualls and Aaron Heilman are the most likely to be traded. Catcher Chris Snyder is likely on the list too.
The D-backs may not want to move some of their bigger trading chips until they have a permanent GM.
