Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus tweets, “Lots of scouts here. Trades involving the A’s and Mariners are imminent!”

This is a very vague rumor, but a rumor nonetheless form a reliable source. The Mariners take on the New York Yankees tonight, and the Oakland Athletics host the Los Angeles Angels. Ben Sheets is pitching for the A’s tonight, so it’s possible the A’s could trade their veteran starter.

Earlier today, we talked about A’s GM Billy Beane not trading any player before the July 31st trade deadline, but if there are scouts watching the A’s tonight and they are presented with a solid offer, then it’s possible that Sheets could be dealt.
