AOL FanHouse on the MLB Trade Deadline: Oswalt, Werth, Fielder, Hart, Cantu, Dunn, Ross
ByThe staff of AOL FanHouse have a few MLB trade deadline rumors to keep your eye on:
- Houston Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt is likely going to remain in Houston by the end of the month. One executive close to FanHouse says there’s a “60 percent” chance that Oswalt will be an Astro through the deadline and beyond. If there is a buyer, Houston is willing to throw in $4-5 million.
- The Phillies are continuing to gauge the trade value of right-fielder Jayson Werth, but pulling off a deal remains a difficult task.
- The Brewers are willing to discuss trades for Prince Fielder and Corey Hart, but have no deals on the tables for either player.
- The Rangers would like a lefty reliever and right-handed hitter. Florida Marlins’ Jorge Cantu could be a fit.
- The Nationals asked the Chicago White Sox for Carlos Quentin or Gordon Beckham in exchange for Adam Dunn. The White Sox declined, for now.
- The Padres would like to add a hitter, but do not think the Marlins’ Cody Ross is a good fit.
