According to Tom Krasovic of AOL FanHouse, San Diego Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez wants an eight-year contract.

Another first baseman, Prince Fielder, will be a free agent after the 2011 season and it’s believed that he’s going after a $200 million contract over eight-years, and with super-agent Scott Boras, it is likely that Fielder can set the market price for slugging first basemen.

Gonzalez, 28, has an affordable $5.5 million team option for 2011.
