3 teams interested in free agent Jermaine Dye
ByKen Rosenthal of FOXSports says the San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies and Texas Rangers have sent out feelers to Jermaine Dye to see if he has interest in playing again.
The 36-year-old outfielder has turned down several offers to play this season because of financial reasons and his lack of desire to uproot his family. Teams that were interested included the Cubs and the Nationals. The Nationals were believed to have offered a $4 million contract back in April.
“It has only been 4 1/2 years since I was the World Series
MVP,” Dye told FOXSports.com in Feburary. “I’m a winner. Hopefully some teams out there can see that.”
Dye hit .250/.340/.453 with 27 home runs and 81 RBIs in 2009 with the Chicago White Sox. He he started 133 of the 141 games he played in right field.
