Yorvit Torrealba Rumors: Placed on restricted list?

6/5 09:21: This is what Torrealba told Chris Jenkins of the Union-Tribune:
“My wife is fine, my son is fine,” Torrealba said. “They’ll be in New York in a couple days. There was just some personal stuff I had to take care of. The timing was right to get it over with, so I did. I really appreciate the fact that the Padres let me go take care of business.”
It is believed that Torrealba had to deal with legal issues stemming from the kidnapping of his son and other relatives in Venezuela last year.
6/4 11:42: According to Seattle P-I, Torrealba returned to the Padres. The team optned catcher Dusty Ryan to Triple-A Portland to make room for Torrealba. The team did not use Ryan while Torrealba was away. There’s no word on why he was missing this week.
6/2 01:37: San Diego Padres catcher Yorvit Torrealba has been missing for a few days and the team has not been talking. The Padres placed the 31-year-old catcher on the restricted for “personal reasons” and he will rejoin the club in Philadelphia on Thursday.
The San Diego Union-Tribune says that it is almost exactly one year since Torrealba took a leave from his former team, the Colorado Rockies, to tend to the kidnapping of his 11-year-old son and two of the boy’s uncles. The family was soon released and no ransom was paid. The catcher immediately moved his family to the Miami area.
“Yorvit will be away three days,” Padres manager Bud Black said. “He will meet us in Philadelphia.”
Dusty Ryan was promoted from Triple-A Portland to take Torrealba’s spot on the Padres roster.
