Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports says that the Chicago Cubs should trade shortstop Ryan Theriot since rookie Starlin Castro is obviously the shortstop of the future. Castro has started every game at short since he arrived in the Majors on May 7.

Morosi says the Padres, Tigers, Twins and Athletics are contending teams that have below-average production at shortstop, but he adds that there is no indication that those clubs have interest in Theriot.

Theriot is a relative bargain for a veteran with playoff experience. He’s earning $2.6 million in his first year of salary arbitration.
