Jon Paul Morosi on Rangers, Oswalt, Cubs, Red Sox and Kemp
ByJon Paul Morosi of FOXSports had a few tweets today. Here’s the skinny:
- Morosi says the Texas Rangers are more focused on adding a starting pitcher than anything else. They’ve been mentioned as a destination for Roy Oswalt and Cliff Lee, but they are stuck in bankruptcy limbo.
- The New York Mets aren’t serious players for Oswalt.
- The Chicago Cubs are only “halfway” to selling mode.
- The Boston Red Sox discussed the Cubs’ Mike Fontenot before they made a trade with the Oakland Athletics for INF/OF Eric Patterson over the weekend.
- The Los Angeles Dodgers have benched Matt Kemp for the third day in a row. They have not requested optional waivers on Kemp recently, so a demotion to the Minors is unlikely.
