Troy E. Renck of The Denver Post says the Colorado Rockies are keeping an eye on Baltimore Orioles’ Ty Wigginton and Florida Marlins’ Dan Uggla.
The Rockies lost starting shortstop Troy Tulowitzki until August due to a broken left hand, and the team has considered trading for outside help as a stop gap until Tulowitzki returns.
The Marlins tried trading Uggla, their second baseman last winter, so they’d likely be open to talking about him now. If the Rockies acquire Uggla, they would likely place Uggla at second base and play Clint Barmes at shortstop.
