According to Paul Hoynes of The Plain Dealer, the Cleveland Indians have designated veteran right-handed pitcher Jamey Wright to make room for right-handed pitcher Frank Herrmann.
On Wednesday, manager Manny Acta said “Frankie has earned a shot.’ The shot probably came a little sooner than expected because of the ragged state of the Tribe’s bullpen.
Wright was 1-2 with a 5.48 ERA in 18 appearances this year. Opponents were hitting .294 against him.
