Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports that Chicago Cubs’ pitcher Carlos Zambrano was placed on the the restricted list starting on Tuesday.

Bruce Levine of ESPNChicago.com says Zambrano will be moved from the suspended list to the restricted list after a consultation between MLB, the players union and Zambrano’s agent.

Zambrano will be paid during his time on the restricted list and go through a treatment program that will have him away from the team until at least July 15. At that time Zambrano will go to the bullpen.

On Friday, Zambrano had to be separated from teammate Derrek Lee. The two apparently were arguing about a play in the previous half inning. You can see the video here:
