Baltimore Orioles manager Dave Trembley fired

Dave Trembley6/4 11:07: It’s official. According to Dan Connollly of the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles have officially fired manager Dave Trembley.  Juan Samuel is the new interim manager. Gary Allenson, the manager of thier affiliate in Norfolk, is the new third base coach.

6/3 23:16: Buster Olney of ESPN says, “Dave Trembley may have already been fired by the Orioles this evening, according to a source. The change was ‘inevitable,’ says one source.”

6/3 19:39: Jeff Zreblec of The Baltimore Sun says president of baseball operations, Andy MacPahil, met with with the team this evening.  Zreblec says, “MacPhail wasn’t with the club in New York and it’s not normal for him to meet the club when it returns home from a road trip.”

6/3 11:18: According to the Baltimore Sun, Orioles Manager Dave Trembley is expected to be fired as his role as team manager prior to Friday’s series against the Boston Red Sox. Trembley will be replaced by an internal candidate, which likely will be third-base coach Juan Samuel.

The Orioles are in last place in the AL East with a record of 15-38 and 20.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays. 2010 is Trembley’s fourth season with the club. He has a career managerial record of 187-282. His best finish was fourth place during the 2007 season with the Orioles.
