Mark Bowman and Chris Hempson of MLB.com say the Atlanta Braves may be willing to part ways with the talented 26-year-old short stop, Yunel Escobar, before the July 31 trade deadline. Escobar has not pleased Braves’ management with his flamboyant method of turning double-plays or reacting to a umpires.
The Braves aren’t entering July expectations to deal the infielder, but Atlanta could trade him if they are presented with an extremely attractive package.
One team that needs a shortstop are the Colorado Rockies. They are currently competing for the National League West title, but their starting shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is out until August due to a broken left hand.
