Arizona Diamondback Rumors: Dan Haren or Edwin Jackson gone next year?

By Allan

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports says the Arizona Diamondbacks cannot keep both Dan Haren and Edwin Jackson since they make over $21 million combined next season.

The Diamondbacks will have several options for both pitchers. Despite one executive saying, “[Haren's] not at the top of anyone’s list, he’s just another name,” come trade deadline he may be an option for several teams.

Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe says scouts from the New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers all came out to watch Haren’s last start, a 9-3 loss to the Yankees. He went seven innings and allowed six hits and three runs. Cafardo says, “It will be interesting to see whether the Diamondbacks wind up dealing their best starter and whether anyone will break the bank to get him.”

On Saturday, there was a rumor that the Washington Nationals could be interested in Jackson, but his wildness could be a liability that the Nats may not want to inherit.
