Aaron Harang Trade Rumors: Could Reds deal pitcher?
ByJohn Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer
spoke with two scouts regarding Reds right-handed pitcher Aaron Harang.
“That’s the best I’ve seen him in two years,” one said.
“The only thing he should do is junk that curveball,” the other said.
Fay says that there will be a trade market for Harang come end of July if he continues to pitch like he did against the Giants this week. Harang is 5-2 with a 3.93 ERA in his last nine starts.
Harang is good in the clubhouse and good in the community. He is being paid $12.5 million this season and if traded, his 2011 team option becomes a mutual option at $14 million with a $2.5 million buyout.
Both of the clubs that Fay spoke to (one NL scout and one AL scout) could afford Harang.
