VIDEO: Wide third strike of David Ortiz by umpire Dale Scott and ejection of Terry Francona

By Allan

After a game in which his skipper was ejected by home plate umpire Dale Scott for arguing balls and strikes, Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia jibed:

“I don’t know, man. That was interesting. They must have had a flight. I’m actually going to check on that. If they had a flight, we’re going to make sure it was delayed. Because I can do that. I have that kind of pull around here.”

Others weighed in on the umps. I’d bet though, that none strut past their boss’s office with “guns out,” shout at NFL players for being overweight, or perpetually claim to be the meanest (and best-looking) S.O.B. in the valley. Pedroia probably gets fined, but he continues to be the marvelously modern James Cagney of baseball.

Here’s the video of David Ortiz’s at-bat and the eventual ejection of Terry Francona.
