VIDEO: Cubs Starlin Castro sets rookie record and has jersey sent to Cooperstown

By Allan

Rookie Starlin Castro made his Major League debut for the Cubs on Friday and he did it in historic style. Castro went 2-for-5 with 6 RBIs including a three-run home run in the 2nd inning.  Check it out here:

The Associated Press says that an authenticator from Major League Baseball gathered Catro’s blue game jersey, his cap and the lineup card presumably for the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Castro broke Ben Grieve’s rookie debut RBI record of five runs which was set in 1997. Castro also was the youngest shortstop in Cubs history when he stepped onto the field for the first time.
